It is demonstrated that the wireless access networks having star or bus logical topologies can be realized within the proposed optimal SMT conduit structure. The SMT architecture results in a signi cant reduction in conduit length compared to the conventional star type, besides it provides more exibility and robustness. For the systems which have logical bus topologies with centralized complexity, such as the distributed antenna (DA) systems, the SMT architecture is optimal in both cable and conduit lengths.

The Role of Regulatory in Price Control and Spectrum Allocation to Competing Wireless Access Networks
With the rapid growth of wireless access networks, various providers offer their services using different technologies such as Wi-Fi, Wimax, 3G, 4G and so on. These networks compete for the scarce wireless spectrum. The spectrum is considered to be a scarce resource moderated by the spectrum allocation regulatory (“regulatory” for short) which is the governance body aiming to maximize the socia...
متن کاملMulti-channel Medium Access Control Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey
Extensive researches on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been performed and many techniques have been developed for the data link (MAC) layer. Most of them assume single-channel MAC protocols. In the usual dense deployment of the sensor networks, single-channel MAC protocols may be deficient because of radio collisions and limited bandwidth. Hence, using multiple channels can significantly ...

متن کاملFinal Report of the Technology Transfer Project ”Wireless Mesh Networks for Interconnection of Remote Sites to Fixed Broadband Networks (Feasibility Study)”
Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) operating in the 5GHz band (IEEE 802.11 a/h) offer a great opportunity to function as wireless access networks. Remote sites that lack direct access to a fibre network may benefit from this technology, as it can be used to bridge potentially large distances. The high gain of directional antennas improves the reception of signals in focused directions and reduces in...
